The Lewis Easter Cemetery - Before and After

The pictures above show the Lewis Easter Cemetery as it was rediscovered in June 1999 (on the left) when only the graves of Louis Elbert and Marteley Easter were identifiable and just a short time later  (on the right) after much work by Easter 'cousins' and Monroe County workers.

In the Lewis Easter Cemetery located on the Lewis Easter farm on Greenwood Springs Road, there are several graves both marked and unmarked. Davis Buckner Easter's first wife is buried there with the grave marked by a large flat stone. Other graves are marked with a rounded pine lighter stump, but the names are not given.

In Heaven is now thine own.
