     Jennie Lee Easter was born on 29 April 1881 at Itasca, Hill County, Texas. She was the daughter of William Franklin Easter and Prudence Pryor Major. Jennie Lee Easter married Joe Stagner. Jennie Lee Easter died on 22 March 1952 at Hereford, Deaf Smith County, Texas, at age 70.

     Jessie Easter was born in 1904 at Monroe County, Mississippi, USA. She was the daughter of William Riley Easter and Martha Emaline Edge. Jessie Easter died unk at Monroe County, Mississippi, USA.

     Jessie Major Easter was born on 20 August 1897 at Johnson County, Texas, USA.¹ He was the son of Sackville Evan "Sag" Easter and Nancy E. Dunaway.¹

     Jewel Easter was born on 21 September 1927 at Monroe County, Mississippi, USA. She was the daughter of Burley Payton Easter and Della F. Whitaker. Jewel Easter died on 23 July 2008 at Gilmore Memorial General Medical Center, Amory, Monroe County, Mississippi, USA, at age 80.

     Jimmie Frances Easter was born on 16 May 1916 at Monroe County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of William Ira Easter and Leitha May Edge. Jimmie Frances Easter died on 3 June 2003 at age 87; Obituary - GREENWOOD SPRINGS - Jimmie Easter Taylor, 87, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at her home in Greenwood Springs. She was born May 16, 1916, to Ira and Letha Edge Easter in Monroe County. She was a lifelong resident of Greenwood Springs and a 1935 graduate of Greenwood Springs School. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Amory. She was a retired seamstress for Sharp Manufacturing/TIL. She worked for the Gulf Ordnance Plant and Ingalls Shipyard during World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with the Rev. Bob Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Tubb and husband, Robert, of Columbus; two sons, Steve Taylor and wife, Claudette, of Amory and Allen Taylor and wife, Diane, of Greenwood Springs; seven grandchilden; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bernice Easter of Verona; his caregiver, Libby Luker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Aaron Taylor; a grandson, Daniel E. Taylor; and seven brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Doug Taylor, Tommy Taylor, Greg Tubb, Chris Mims, Kenneth Taylor, Allen Wayne Taylor and Phillip Taylor.


Dr. Michael Boland will be an honorary pallbearer.


Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.


Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in Amory.

     Joe Houston Easter was born on 13 January 1919 at Gattman, Monroe County, Alabama. He was the son of Burley Payton Easter and Della F. Whitaker. Joe Houston Easter died on 7 April 2004 at Aberdeen, Monroe County, Mississippi, at age 85.¹ He was the son of Burley Payton Easter and Della Frances Whitaker Easter. -- He was married to Katy Louise Roebuck. They had one adopted daughter Stephanie and 2 grandchildren.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen. He was a truck driver for 30 years and an employee of the city of Aberdeen Housing Authority for 16 years. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church since 1950 serving as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, song leader and honorary board member.

Joe was special, he had his left arm cut off just below the shoulder from a sawmill accident when he was a young man. The only thing I ever saw that Joe couldn't do was wash is right arm. He even wore shoes with laces rather than loafers. He drove big semi trucks and changed gears, he built things and could pound a nail as straight as anyone. You really never realized he only had one arm watching him work. He was buried on 10 April 2004 at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery, Aberdeen, Monroe County, Mississippi.²

     Joel Carlton Easter was born on 12 September 1897 at Tarrant County, Texas, USA.¹ He was the son of Van Buren Easter and Terrah Jane East.¹ Joel Carlton Easter died on 11 February 1972 at Irving, Dallas County, Texas, USA, at age 74.¹

Easter's minor children (William C; Thomas T; John C; Ann F; and James J. Easter ) to Andrew J. Legg. Andrew J. Legg was the husband of Champion Dorcas Easter's sister, Terry Ann Easter Legg, who still resided in Limestone County, Alabama. The supposition is that while Sacksville, who lived in Texas, was the legal guardian of the children, the children actually lived in Limestone County, Alabama with their Aunt and Uncle, Andrew and Terry Easter Legg. (Limestone County Alabama - Deeds, Book 8, Page 638 ).

Easter the executor therein named who made oath thereto and together with William Stone and Lewis Roffe his securities entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of five thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs certificate was
