     Lutie Easter was born on 16 May 1930 at Athens, Alabama, USA.1 She was the daughter of Milton James Easter Jr and Josephine Stonestreet.1 Lutie Easter died on 26 July 2008 at Hospice of West Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA, at age 78.1 TUSCALOOSA Lutie Easter Shamburger, age 78, of Tuscaloosa, died July 26, 2008, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa with Dr. Charlie Durham officiating. Visitation will be immediately following the service in the Great Hall of First Presbyterian Church. Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of final arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Milt Easter, and her sister, Bettie Easter Legg.

Survivors include her husband, Victor Marsh Shamburger, Jr; daughter, Adelaide Wood (Alan) of Tuscaloosa; son, Dr. James Victor Shamburger (Julie) of Gulf Shores; sister, Martha Ray Easter of Daytona Beach, Fla; and grandchildren, Lindsey Shamburger, J. Ryan Shamburger, C. Dale Shamburger, Millie Shamburger, Victor Wood, and Josie Wood.

After briefly teaching in the schools of Limestone County, she became the Assistant Home Agent for Hale County Extension Service. In Greensboro, she met Victor Shamburger, a geologist with the Geological Survey of Alabama. They were married in Athens on May 17, 1953. Lutie and Victor have made their home in Tuscaloosa since 1965. They have maintained close connections to friends and families of Greensboro and Athens. For a number of years, Lutie was the proprietor of the Iron Horse, a ladies clothing and accessories shop. She made and enjoyed many wonderful friendships from that time.

Lutie enjoyed friends in Lagniappe Investment Club, Les Amis Study Club, her water aerobics class, Thursday Night Supper Club and her Bible Study group at Northport First Baptist Church. She enjoyed bridge with many groups in Tuscaloosa. She had many interests, including needlepoint, gardening, bird watching and fishing. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and of Circle #2.

Her family wishes to thank the many friends who visited and encouraged her during her illness. Appreciation is also extended to Dr. David Hinton and the staff of the Cancer Treatment Center, Vicki May, CRNP, and the staff of Hospice of West Alabama, who made her last days so peaceful and restful.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa or Hospice of West Alabama.      Lutie Earle Easter was born on 12 December 1859. He was the son of Milton James Easter and Susan Elizabeth "Bettie" Adams. Lutie Earle Easter married Mattie E. Chandler at Limestone County, Alabama. Lutie Earle Easter died on 21 June 1947 at The home of his son, Milton James Easter, Athens, Limestone County, Alabama, at age 87.1 Published in The Alabama Courier, June 26, 1947:
Lutie Early Easter, 87, died suddenly Saturday about 6:30 p.m. after supper at the home of his son, Milton J. Easter, where he had lived for nineteen years.
Funeral services were held for this prominent citizen and retired farmer on Sunday afternoon at the residence by Dr. B. T. Waites, pastor of Methodist Church, Rev. Hughston R. Peyton, of the Presbyterian Church, and Rev. J. A. Smoake, Christian Church pastor, at 4 o'clock. Interment in the City Cemetery followed McConnell-Service directing.
The deceased was the son of the late Milt J. and Betty Adams Easter. His wife, Mrs. Mattie Chandler Easter, preceded him in death many years ago.
For a man of his age, Mr. Easter was very active and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, having lived a quite Christian life.
Surviving are three sons, Milt Easter, R. R. Easter of Decatur, and E. C. Easter of Birmingham; one brother, T. C. Easter, Atlanta; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Lund, Blytheville, Arkansas; and four grandchildren.2

     Madison Jones Easter was born in 1804 at Georgia.1 He was the son of Lewis Easter and Elizabeth Neal. Madison Jones Easter died on 13 May 1894 at Monroe County, Mississippi.2 He was buried on 16 May 1894 at Main Easter Cemetery, Monroe County, Mississippi.
     On on 1 October 1859 at Columbus, Monroe County, Mississippi,, Madison Jones Easter bought land. To wit: the South half of the lot numbered five of Section fifteen, the Lot numbered Four, the South half of the lots numbered two and three, and the North half of the Lot numbered Seven of Section twenty-two in Township Fourteen South of Range Seventeen West in the District of Lands subject to sale at Columbus, Mississippi, containing Two hundred and thirty-five acres and one hundredth of an acre. On on 1 October 1859, Madison Jones Easter bought land. To Wit: The North half of the Lot numbered five of Section Fifteen in Township Fourteen South of Range Seventeen West in the District of Lands subject to sale in Columbua, Mississippi, containing Forty-two acres and thirteen hundredths of an acre.3 History Notes on Madison J. Easter) of the second part both of the county of Monroe County and the state of Mississippi.
