     Nell Owen was born on 20 February 1933 at Aberdeen, Monroe County, Mississippi.1 She married William Thomas "Tommy" Mize, son of Elzie W. Mize and Edna Lee Easter, in 1951 at Amory, Monroe County, Mississippi.1 Nell Owen died on 3 February 2009 at Tupelo, Lee County, Mississippi, at age 75.1 Nell Owen Mize, 75, died Feb. 3, 2009, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Aberdeen to Woodie Watson and Cora Roberts Owen. She married William Thomas Mize II in 1951; he died in 2003. She worked for Monroe Bank and Trust in Aberdeen from 1953-1958; Peoples Bank and Trust in Tupelo from 1959-1963; and for Security Bank in Amory from 1964 until her retirement. She was a member of the Aurora Club and the St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed her family, cooking and doing for others.

Services were at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with burial in the Masonic Cemetery in Amory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Garland and Bill Owen; and two sisters, Martha Owen Tubb and Helen Owen Hays. She was buried on 6 February 2009 at Masonic Cemetery, Amory, Monroe County, Mississippi.1
     As of 1951,her married name was Mize.1

     Martha Jane Pettus married William Thompson Easter, son of James Easter and Sarah Thompson, on 27 August 1789 at Wilkes County, Georgia. Martha Jane Pettus separated from Martha Jane Pettus 27 August 1821; "Whereas an unfortunate difference exists between William Easter and Martha his wife...(who deem it necessary to separate)...William Easter to Thomas OBanion and Beverly Hughes, trustees for said Martha Easter, livestock, furniture, one man slave and $2,335.50, to said Martha for her life and subject to her disposal by will, and if she makes no will, to be distributed among her next of kin according to the law of distribution." Witnesses: David Brewton, James Trotter, James Mauldin.1 Martha Easter by next friend, John W. Thompson, sue WILLIAM EASTER for divorce, 1816. They were married "about 27 years ago" in Wilkes County, Georgia. Lived in harmony for 20 years, then came to Madison County, Alabama. Subpoena issued requiring David Bruton, James Trotter, and James Mauldin to appear.2
